Are there times when you feel like you’re in a rut? You wake up in the morning, and see the day ahead looks very much like yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that? If this is the case, and you find your mood is a little low, or you feel very bored, would you take the opportunity to do something different if it helped your climb out of that rut? Our energy goes up and down, and with it, our moods, thoughts and physical health shift. When we are in a rut, our energy gets stagnant. We do the same thing because we expect the same thing. So, if you want to shake things up, here’s an exercise: Take stock of how you feel in this moment (bored, excited, blasé, sad, upbeat). If you’re feeling on the lower end of life, like you’re bored or upset, note how deeply you feel this energy. If you look at your energy currency level, would you be close to having an empty account? If your account is low, consider choosing to do something that would add to your account and bolster your energy currency balance. Would one of these help your energy account increase? For 10 minutes today, choose one of the following activities. Do, see, or create something that makes you laugh. Call a friend or relative and tell them you love them. With your pet, truly merge yourselves in the present moment. Go outside and slowly look up at the sky and then down at the earth. After you’ve done any of these things, check your energy currency.
