“I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with this delightful and also peacefully calming new story book, The Bird Ride. I loved how it took us all on the bird ride through the author’s words. The book has a really nice calming rhythm to it and I really felt like I was up in the air and soaring over the world with the main character and Blue Bird. It has a wonderful message about mindfulness, noticing and gratitude. The illustrations are really bright and colorful and really add to the text. I love that an emerging young artist was chosen to bring the author’s words into color.
I think the book is perfect for grade schoolers up through 4th grade but would encourage people to share with their tweens, too, even if they think they are “too old” for picture books”
